Hospitality since 1663

Bärenwirt dates back to the 15th/16th century.  In the alley where the Salzburg's original mill was located, a bear is said to have washed ashore in 1562. The inn there came to be called the Black Bear Inn.

Sausage and Soul

By taking over the Bärenwirt, hoteliers Andreas Felleis, Dagmar and Patrick Knittelfelder have the declared aim of making a significant contribution to the preservation of Salzburg's pub culture - with a slightly new interpretation. "Bratl & Soul" (Sausage and Soul) is the motto.
